Introducing "Robbie" - 8 May, 2011
Robbie is a very handsome 7yo bay STB gelding who stands approximately 16h tall. Robbie came to us about 3 months ago as he had been unsucessful in making the grade as a race horse. Robbie's previous owners had bred him themselves and were concerned about his future after the track. They were told about our work through a mutual friend and wanting something more for Robbie than a trip to the knackery they contacted us to assist in re-homing their beautiful boy. Robbie's name came about because he was born on the night of the Melbourne "Robbie Williams" concert......and he is every bit as handsome.

Robbies First Day Under Saddle - 22 May, 2011
This weekend Robbie took the opportunity to show us what a sweet natured horse he really is. Gill continued her groundwork with Robbie in the roundyard but it wasn't long before Gill decided Robbie was ready for the next phase and Charlie gave her a leg up.
Gill was quit happy to just continue riding Robbie bareback in a halter, but for a full assesment and training purposes, we managed to talk her into putting a saddle on him....
Robbie The Natural Born Trail Horse - 29 June, 2011
Given how quiet and gentle Robbie has been through his assessment program to date, it should come as no surprise that he is a natural out on the trails. Robbie has been out on three rides to date and it really is like he has done it all his life. Robbie is a lead horse who doesn't spook easily and has proven to be fine with cars coming past us at various speeds with rattling trailers on the back. He is gentle and although brave he still looks to his rider for directions and guidance. Here are some pictures of Robbie and the lovely 'Lucille" (De Lilah's new mum) who came out to see us and help us with the horses yesterday.
