Joey Get's His Back Checked - 27 September, 2010
Joey received a visit from Melanie Quick last week who did a thurough assesment of Joey's back and any other sore spots he may have from his years on the track.

Seana Starts Groundwork Training With Joey - 27 September, 2010
Our volunteer Seana joined us over the weekend and did a wonderful job starting Joey in the roundyard. Seana first 'joined up' with Joey and the two of them seemed to be on the same wavelength from the first moment....
Charlie then stepped in to show Seana how to proceed with the lateral flexion exercises to soften joey's neck. The lateral flexion exercises not only helps to soften the horse's stiff muscles but is also the first training step to teach a horse 'the one rein stop'.
Joey has been adopted and will be living with a neighbour who adores him. She is an experienced horse women who will complete Joey's education to saddle herself.
